Europe’s largest floating solar plant officially inaugurated
On 20 June 2025, after six years of development, the Les Îlots Blandin project was officially inaugurated in Perthes, Haute-Marne, France. This landmark installation is now generating 74 MWp of clean energy on former gravel pits – transforming a legacy site into a model of circular land use.
What was once an extraction basin is today Europe’s largest floating solar plant, made possible by bold partnerships, smart design, and a shared ambition to build the energy systems of tomorrow.
At PerPetum Energy, we are proud to have played a key role in bringing this project to life – from optimising the design and scaling up capacity to delivering the complete electrical infrastructure, including a 2 MW ground-mounted array that enhances overall site performance.
For us, this is more than just solar. Les Îlots Blandin demonstrates what full-site energy transformation can achieve: smart, scalable, and profitable decarbonisation solutions that strengthen our customers’ competitive edge.
