Gallée Energy
Pioneering utility-scale solar in Wallonia

Project Overview
Gallée Energy is a pioneering 7.4 MWp hybrid renewable energy project in Tertre, Wallonia, combining 6.4 MWp of ground-mounted solar PV with an operational 1 MW / 2 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). As one of the first utility-scale, front-of-meter solar projects in the Walloon region, Gallée Energy proved that large-scale renewable deployment on brownfield land is both technically and commercially viable. The operational BESS delivers self-consumption optimisation, imbalance response and peak shaving, making this one of PerPetum's flagship hybrid energy assets.
The Challenge
Develop one of the first large utility-scale solar projects in Wallonia, navigating complex permitting, full grid injection requirements, and brownfield site conditions, at a time when large-scale solar was not yet established in the region.
Our Solution
A 6.4 MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic installation developed, financed and delivered under a full-scope model, from development and investment through EPC to long-term operation & maintenance. The project is complemented by an operational 1 MW / 2 MWh battery energy storage system that provides self-consumption optimisation, imbalance response and peak shaving capabilities. The BESS integration strengthens grid interaction and delivers additional revenue streams, making Gallée Energy a benchmark for hybrid renewable projects in Wallonia.
