HELIOS is a 60 MWp ground-mounted solar installation in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, Wallonia. The project delivers large-scale renewable electricity for the nearby INEOS Inovyn chemical production site through a dedicated high-voltage connection. PerPetum delivered the project end-to-end, covering development, investment, construction and long-term operation.
Project Overview
HELIOS is one of the largest solar installations directly linked to an industrial production site in Belgium. With 60 MWp of installed photovoltaic capacity, the installation produces approximately 54 GWh of renewable electricity per year. The solar park is connected to the INEOS Inovyn production facilities via a dedicated high-voltage line, enabling large-scale renewable electricity supply for an energy-intensive industrial process. The project demonstrates how utility-scale solar generation can be integrated into industrial energy systems through dedicated infrastructure and long-term energy sourcing strategies.

Our Solution
A 60 MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic installation connected to the INEOS Inovyn production site through a 70 kV high-voltage line spanning approximately 1.6 km. The project was delivered under a Design | Build | Operate | Invest model with guarantees on power delivery, performance and commissioning schedule. The installation provides long-term renewable electricity supply integrated with the energy sourcing strategy of the industrial site.
