About Perpetum
Founded in 2007, PerPetum has become a key player in the commercial and industrial decarbonization sector. In recent years, the company has grown rapidly and has built some of the largest solar decarbonization projects in Belgium and is quickly expanding within Europe.
PerPetum focuses on behind-the-meter decarbonization solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The company started in solar PV projects, and is expanding into batteries, e-mobility, onshore wind and heat solutions to enable PerPetum to become a strategically important player in Europe. PerPetum is a vertically integrated decarbonization player active throughout the entire value chain: Development, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), Services (O&M) and Investments (asset ownership). Today, PerPetum owns 117MWp of operational solar projects across 40 sites with a further 70MWp+ in construction and a pipeline of ~700MWp+ to 2026. One of their flagship projects comprises two solar parks (40MWp) built on the car parks of Pairi Daiza zoo. PerPetum’s other notable customers include Aperam (steel manufacturing), Lhoist (lime and minerals producer), WDP (commercial warehouses) and Ineos Inovyn (chemicals manufacturing). As an EPC contractor, PerPetum has long-standing experience in building complex projects throughout Belgium, the Netherlands and France and in several other countries in Europe (and selectively in Africa). During 2023, PerPetum built close to 100MWp solar projects, including the now largest solar rooftop project in Europe of 25MWp.
PerPetum currently has a team of 50 people and the headquarters are in Ghent, Belgium.
PerPetum aims to grow into an EU-wide vertically-integrated renewables platform with decarbonization-as-a-service offerings. Within this new context, PerPetum is looking for an International Key Account Manager to join the team.
About the position
- Title: International Key Account Manager
- Reporting Line: you report directly to the Head of Sales
- Location: HQ (Gent)
Your key responsabilities
PerPetum is looking for an experienced International Key Account Manager to initiate and accelerate its growth in Belgium and France by hunting, securing and farming new customers. You attract and manage a group of important customers (Key Accounts) in order to achieve the designated sales targets through the implementation of appropriate strategies for these key accounts.
More specifically:
- You have a strong affinity for our decarbonization-as-a-service offering, which helps companies reduce carbon emissions without significant upfront investments. You understand the challenges industries face in cutting emissions from their operations and energy use;
- You identify and contact new prospects and build relationships, in order to secure new projects;
- You develop trust relationships with a portfolio of customers (key accounts) to ensure a recurrent volume of business;
- You acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements;
- You expand relationships with customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives;
- You act as point of contact between the customers and the internal support departments during the commercial phase;
- You prepare and deliver offers in time and in line with the customers’ requirements in close collaboration with the development team;
- You are able to identify and to understand the customer’s decision criteria and to optimise your offers according to these criteria;
- You negotiate until you reach a positive decision from the customer;
- You manage all the relations with the customers till the contract signature and the hand-over to the execution team; and you support the back-office team to invoice correctly the contract;
- You achieve the sales targets and KPI’s and you report on a weekly basis to the Head of Sales;
- You support the Head of Sales in the market analysis and the definition of the right strategy.
Your skills, qualifications and competencies
- You hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Sales with a strong technical background or an Engineering degree with strong sales skills;
- You are a native French speaker and you are fluent in English, both spoken and written;
- You have minimum 10 years of experience working in sales or another commercial role, ideally in a technical environment;
- You are able to operate autonomously and drive the business by continuously taking initiatives;
- You are a team player;
- A solid knowledge of renewable and decarbonization technologies in an industrial context is key;
- You are used to dealing with external stakeholders and official instances;
- You have experience in delivering client-focused solutions, by listing to the customers’ needs translating them to concrete solutions;
- You boast excellent communication skills and are able to build relationships on all levels;
- You have a strong ability in problem-solving and negotiation;
- You are highly goal-oriented and assertive;
- You are proficient in MS Office and ERP systems;
- You are based in Belgium and you are willing to travel several days a week to visit customers.

Your key responsabilities
PerPetum is seeking an experienced Development Manager to enhance its market position by ensuring the technical and commercial feasibility of multi-technology renewable energy projects. The ultimate goal is to progress prospects and opportunities to a viable "Good to Develop" status.
More specifically:
- Be part of the Business Development team and report to the Chief Commercial Officer;
- Work within a highly skilled team in a motivating and collaborative environment, with support from internal engineering and financial departments;
- Collaborate with other Development Managers and Key Account Managers to address a variety of client needs, coordinating all technical, commercial, and feasibility aspects;
- Manage the project throughout the entire project lifecycle (from initiation to financial close);
- Provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions during the commercial and negotiation phases, delivering high-quality technical proposals;
- Oversee the follow-up and feasibility assessment of multi-technology renewable energy projects, including land zoning, biodiversity, site surveys, geotechnical tests, indicative scoping and costing, grid scoping and costing, and drone topography;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legal requirements, including local zoning laws, environmental legislation, and energy regulations specific to renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on behind-the-meter solutions;
- Possess an excellent understanding of local legislation concerning behind-the-meter assets;
- Manage permitting processes and conduct financial viability checks in collaboration with the finance team;
- Foster and maintain strong, respectful relationships with external stakeholders;
- Oversee the department’s knowledge management center;
- Focus primarily on Flanders, with potential for expansion the Netherlands. Occasional business travel is required.
Your skills, qualifications and competencies
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics;
- Solid experience working in the renewable energy market, particularly in solar PV, batteries, e-mobility, onshore wind, and heat solutions;
- Excellent knowledge of local legislation concerning behind-the-meter assets;
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage a project and guide different teams throughout the entire project lifecycle;
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration with external stakeholders;
- Excellent project management skills, with significant experience in budgeting and cost analysis;
- Experience in conducting multi-technology feasibility assessments, including land zoning, biodiversity, site surveys, and geotechnical analysis;
- Familiarity with working within the public sector, including handling permits, subsidies, and deliverables;
- Proficient in communicating in multiple languages (Dutch and English).
