We are currently looking for

Your key responsibilities

You are a highly motivated and skilled Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. You play a key role in the successful development and execution of solar projects. You lead and manage design and engineering services for commercial and utility scaled solar or solar + storage system projects. You are part of the Technology Department and you report to the Head of the Department.

More specifically:

Project Design and Development:

  • Design and review mechanical components of solar photovoltaic mounting solutions, including the selection of international suppliers, integration of solar panels, clamping solutions, carport foundation, floating anchoring and other mechanical components to ensure optimal performance and longevity of PerPetum Solar Plant.

System Analysis and Optimization:

  • Conduct thorough analyses of mechanical systems and components to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. If needed, utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools to predict system behavior and improve efficiency. Support external parties for structural stability studies (roof, carport, etc.).

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all mechanical engineering deliverables meet PerPetum quality standards and comply with relevant IEC norms, Eurocode, industry codes, standards, and regulations. Perform and follow-up rigorous testing and validation of mechanical systems (PoT, CPT’s, etc.).

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, Solar engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to procure high-quality materials and components.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide ongoing technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of solar projects. Address and resolve mechanical engineering issues that arise on-site to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay connected with latest advancements in solar technology and mechanical engineering practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and project outcomes.

Your skills, qualifications and competencies

  • You have a Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Construction or Electro-Mechanical);
  • You boast on ‘3-5 years in a similar role;
  • You are intrigued by the renewable energy sector in the broad sense (electricity, PV, battery storage, wind turbines);
  • You are an analytical thinker and you like out of the box solutions;
  • You communicate well with all stakeholders;
  • You show initiative and problem-solving skills;
  • You are flexible and a reliable team member;
  • You are fluent in English and possess strong communication skills in Dutch or French.

This position covers the spectrum of our construction and installation activities for one (or more) client sites simultaneously. The Site Supervisor will monitor the progress of our construction projects on a continuous basis, to ensure they are completed according to Perpetum standards, while ensuring compliance with QHSE regulations. The Site Supervisor will report hierarchically to PerPetum Chief Operating Officer, but functionally to the Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

1. Work Preparation

  • You work closely together with the Project Manager, to set up the client site in preparation of the start of the construction and installation activities;
  • You monitor the progress of the works in terms of the resources and logistics.

2. Site Supervision

  • You supervise the daily and weekly planning, scheduling, and execution of solar EPC projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. You monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. You ensure timely completion of projects within budget and quality parameters;
  • You declare all related incidents without any delay;
  • You keep the full construction team well informed on a daily basis, both internally as externally (e.g. subcontractors, suppliers);
  • You execute Work Place Inspections;
  • You maintain accurate and comprehensive reporting within PerPetum standards.

3. Safety and Quality Management

  • Together with PerPetum Safety advisor, you implement HSE guidelines on site according to the VCA requirements, identify potential safety hazards and eliminate them;
  • You ensure that all projects are completed by subcontractors with scope, budget, planning and in accordance with high-quality standards, implementing quality control measures in collaboration with PerPetum ISO coordinator;
  • You set up toolbox meetings, and follow up on the actions.

Your skills, qualifications and competencies

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent by experience;
  • You have excellent knowledge of safety regulations;
  • You have good working knowledge of construction tools and equipment;
  • You have a sound knowledge of building plans and electrical schedules;
  • You had good knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Dutch;
  • You have understanding of project management methodologies and tools;
  • You have excellent communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders;
  • You have strong organization skills to manage resources, schedules, and documentation effectively;
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

Jouw taken en verantwoordelijkheden

Je zorgt voor technische ondersteuning van het Service departement, zodat te allen tijde de hoogste dienstverlening kan worden aangeboden aan de klant. Dit gebeurt door middel van realtime monitoring, plannen van curatieve interventies, opmaak werkinstructies en root-cause-analyses, het geven van technische opleidingen en communicatie met alle partijen.

Meer specifiek:

  • Je zorgt ervoor dat aan de contractvoorwaarden van jouw toegewezen portefeuille wordt voldaan;
  • Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het beheer van het onderhoud en de reparaties van alle systemen en infrastructuur van Perpetum, met als doel hoogste klanttevredenheid en availebility;
  • Opvolgen en oplossen problemen tijdens de duur van het O&M-contract;
  • Coördineren en plannen van alle service-activiteiten en interventies met oog voor kostefficiëntie en inachtneming van de QHSE-maatregelen. Zorgen voor transparante verslagen en rapportering hieromtrent;
  • Communicatie en afstemming met alle betrokken partijen, inclusief het informeren/voorbereiden van de techniekers en de contacten met onderaannemers;
  • Opstellen draaiboek (werkinstructies) voor algemene klachten en root-cause-analyse van complexere problemen;
  • Remote telefonisch support bieden voor interventies die de Service Techniekers niet kunnen uitvoeren;
  • Coachen van en technische opleiding geven aan de Service Techniekers en onderaannemers.

Jouw vaardigheden, opleiding en competenties

  • Je beschikt over een diploma Bachelor of Master in een technische richting, bij voorkeur elektriciteit, elektronica of elektromechanica; ervaring met PV-installaties is een plus;
  • Je bent een kei in het plannen en organiseren en gaat hierbij proactief te werk;
  • Je hebt ervaring of interesse in het geven van technische opleidingen;
  • Je bent nauwgezet in het bijhouden van alle administratie, op papier en elektronisch;
  • Je communiceert vlot met alle partijen, gesproken en geschreven;
  • Je bent uitermate klantgericht en je rust niet tot je de beste oplossing voor alle partijen hebt gevonden;
  • Je communiceert vlot in het Nederlands, Frans en Engels;
  • Je werkt vlot met het MS-Office pakket (vooral met Excel) en job gerelateerde software (ERP-systemen);

Jouw taken en verantwoordelijkheden

Jij zorgt voor technische ondersteuning van alle installaties en ad hoc service interventies. Op deze manier kunnen we te allen tijde een goede werking van de (PV)-installatie aanbieden aan onze klant en problemen kordaat en efficiënt oplossen.

Meer specifiek:

  • Je geeft ondersteuning bij de opstart van de installaties;
  • Je voert opdrachten / interventies uit op vraag van onze Service Engineers / Asset Perfomance Engineers, na jouw analyse rapporteer je hierover;
  • Je voert complexe service interventies uit (PLC, communicatie, SCADA, Hoog- en Laagspanning) n.a.v. alarmen en afwijkingen en je overlegt met het team jouw bevindingen;
  • Je voert controles uit op uitgevoerde werken van onderaannemers;
  • Je zorgt dat je materiaal en bedrijfseigendommen altijd volledig zijn en voldoen aan alle QHSE-standaarden en policy's;
  • Je werkt altijd volgens de QHSE-standaarden en indien nodig overleg je met de Service Engineer of QHSE-verantwoordelijke; je doet verbetervoorstellen waar mogelijk.

Jouw vaardigheden, opleiding en competenties

  • Je beschikt over een Bachelor diploma in een technische richting, bij voorkeur elektriciteit, elektronica of elektromechanica;
  • Je hebt minimum 5 jaar ervaring met het onderhoud van elektrische installaties;
  • Je communiceert vlot in het Nederlands, Frans en Engels;
  • Je werkt vlot met het MS-Office pakket (vooral met Excel) en jobgerelateerde software;
  • Volgende certificaties zijn een absoluut pluspunt: VCA (VOL), BA4/BA5, Vorkheftruck, Hoogtewerker.

As an Asset Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of assigned sites from commissioning through the end of the O&M contract (20 years). Your work will directly contribute to the company's efficiency, sustainability goals, and financial performance by ensuring optimal operation and management of energy assets.

Your key responsibilities

Performance Optimization:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to enhance energy production and operational efficiency;
  • Apply technical expertise to plan and execute curative interventions such as cleaning, greenkeeping, and root cause analyses.

Quality and Improvement:

  • Perform root cause analyses to identify performance issues;
  • Monitor quality and communicate potential improvement actions to relevant parties within the organization.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Performance Management:

  • Monitor and analyze technical performance metrics such as availability, performance ratio, and energy output;
  • Prepare and validate production reports for senior management, investors, lenders, and clients;
  • Identify under-performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, propose corrective action plans, and oversee their implementation.

Performance Warranties:

  • Compare and analyze asset performance against warranted levels under EPC, O&M, or PPA contracts;
  • Manage performance warranty obligations, including reporting and claims.

Commissioning:

  • Represent the company's long-term ownership interests during the commissioning of new PPA assets.

Asset Dispatch:

  • Validate day-ahead production forecasts;
  • Review day-ahead energy prices and validate curtailment orders;
  • Oversee the calculation of compensation for client-driven curtailment orders;
  • Isolate curtailment impacts in asset performance calculations.

Asset Underwriting & Analytics:

  • Collaborate with the PV Engineering team to refine underwriting assumptions for weather data, availability, performance ratio loss factors, and degradation;
  • Refine underwriting assumptions for curtailment, O&M costs (preventive, corrective, panel cleanings, site clearing, capex replacement);
  • Refine daily output forecast and curtailment algorithms;
  • Work with the construction team to refine the acceptance test protocol;
  • Work with the sales team to refine contractual performance warranties;
  • Continuously seek improvements in the design of new plants to reduce lifetime costs and/or increase expected lifetime project IRR.

Your skills, qualifications and competencies

  • Senior-level profile with proven experience in the operational management of renewable energy assets, and performance engineering or a similar role in the energy sector;
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical skills with a quantitative background, expertise in data analysis, root cause analysis, and budget preparation;
  • Proficiency with relevant software and tools, including SCADA systems, ERP systems, and data reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel);
  • Knowledge of energy markets is a significant advantage;
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch, with excellent communication skills in both French and English, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and potential to manage service engineers depending on experience.

Your key responsibilities

The commercial tender manager oversees the entire tendering process, ensuring the preparation and submission of competitive, compliant, and financially viable tenders to secure renewable energy projects.

More specifically:

  • Respond to RFQs: Handle Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from the Benelux market, including both Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) tenders. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as Sales, Development, Operations, Procurement, Finance and Legal;
  • Focus on PV Projects: Primarily manage tenders related to photovoltaic (PV) projects of various sizes and complexities, such as carport, roof mount, ground mount, and floating installations. Anticipate more holistic and complex requests in the future involving multiple technologies and additional services;
  • Strategy and Coordination: Analyze tenders to determine the optimal strategy for winning. Streamline organizational efforts to ensure everyone follows the strategy and relevant metrics. Utilize strong commercial insights and technical knowledge to brainstorm within the organization about technical scoping and costing aspects, making informed decisions collaboratively;
  • Take ownership of available tools, continuously improving their use and effectiveness in the tender process;
  • You drive continuous improvement through post-tender reviews, both internally and with clients. You share successes with team members and analyse loss factors;
  • Headquarters-Based Role: Primarily work at the company headquarters in Ghent, Belgium, with occasional site surveys and visits;
  • Reporting: Report directly to the Development & Scoping Officer.

Your skills, qualifications and competencies

  • You hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Sales with a strong technical background or an Engineering degree with strong sales skills;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a commercial role in an international environment, ideally in the renewable energy sector;
  • You are fluent in English and in Dutch or French, both spoken and written;
  • You communicate and collaborate well with all stakeholders and show strong influencing skills, you build relationships on all levels;
  • You are excellent at planning and organizing (taking budget and time constraints into account);
  • You show initiative and problem solving skills;
  • You have strong financial and numeracy skills;
  • You have experience in delivering client-focused solutions;
  • You are proficient in MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems.
